Heaven at East - Havelock Island

                                        Many of us dreamed a travel to island having white sand beaches like Maldives, Mauritius or French Polyneshia. Since budget is a big concern for travellers definitely 90 percent of the people who dreamnt about those islands dropped their plan. For such kind of people here is the place which make their dream true within their bugdet. Havelock island, which is a part of Andaman and Nicobar islands of the country India. This South East Asian island surrounded by the vast sea Bay of Bengal will raise your eyes up for sure. The island was named after English commander Henry Havelock during British colony rule.

                                     People throughout the world visiting this beautiful island for peace and scenary. Havelock is the most beautiful among Andaman and Nicobar Islands which attracts more tourists towards it. Since the beach is so clean the sand looks white unlike other Indian beaches. This Island having five significant beaches like Radhanagar beach, Govindha nagar beach, Bijoy nagar, Krishna nagar, Shyam Nagar. Among the five Radha nagar beach was claimed as Asia's cleanest and beautiful beach for the year 2004 by Times Magazine.



                                     To visit Havelock Island, first you have to reach Port blair via Airway or Waterway. Flights and Ships are available more from the Indian city Chennai. From Portblair we have to take Ferry to reach Havelock. It costs aroung 5-8 USD. Those Ferry's are operated from Port Blair twice or Thrice in a day. We have to complete a 55 km sea journey to reach Havelock. Helicopter facilities also available from Port Blair but it costs too heavy when compared with ferry.





                                     Since the island is too small you can cover the entire havelock by walk. I suggest either walk or take bicycles to roam which gives you fabulous view of the island. Lot of hotels are there you can select as per your wish and budget. Bay of Bengal sea is famous for its enriched coral reefs. You can see those coral reefs near radhanagar beach. The crystal clear water of radhanagar beach will give you the clear view of coral reefs and the fishes living inside it. Its better to go there by lunch time. So that you can have lunch at the lap of beach and can view the beautiful sunset at evening. The sunset view is one of the most beautiful from beach. So prepare your cameras and phones before visiting there.




                                     Another beach called "Elephant beach" is very near to radhanagar. Its better to walk and reach. People who cant able to walk can take autorickshaws available there charging 100 rupees per head. You can hire elephant and roam around this beach.



                                      How can an island be there without Scuba diving? Nope right. Havelock is one of the best places in Andaman to dive inside sea. I have already told about the coral reefs you can make scuba dive and can feel, touch those coral reefs. If you are not familiar or new to Scuba diving no need to worry. Trainers available there they will take you inside the sea. Some trekking also there we didnt tried that.




                                     Many resorts and hotels are there to stay which can afford comfortable stay. Even you can select huts for your stay. Dont forget to taste the andaman tender coconuts and fishes.
Clear water, blue sky, white sand, Emerald vegetation and orange sunset will never made you to forget this trip.
