Must visit places in Sikkim - Part 1



                                 Sikkim, one of the smallest state in India located at the lap of Great Himalaya. Many people not aware of this small state, I bet it can raise your eyebrows once you saw this nature covered places. Nowadays Sikkim got more attention because of youngsters. Many young men around India having desire of visit sikkim with their friends. Few people planned for a bike trip too. Bike trip will be more adventurous in Himalayas that too in Sikkim. The roads are too dangerous and steep. If you are planning for a bike trip make sure you are a good rider. Riders will prefer over Racers for these kind of Sikkim Roads. Eventhough it is small state like Goa, its very difficult to cover the entire state within one or two days. We can cover an average of 20 km per hour. Not only for bachelors, Sikkim is one of the most romantic places in North East for Honeymoon Couples. You can enjoy the view of Green trees, vibrant colors of flowers and Icy snow along with your partner. Many local vehicles are available for roaming you can hire as per your plan. Tsomgo Lake




                  Tsomgo is also known as Changu and is located in the heart of misty hills, which are covered in lush greenery. It is also called as "color changing lake". These hills are not only abode to lush greenery but also to the most welcoming people. The Tsomgo Lake makes its appearance while one is headed towards the Nathu La Pass in the Indo-China border; it is not cakewalk for one to reach this beauty due to the unruly terrain. Such a flawless beauty at the top of Himalaya definitely will give a experience of reborn to us. Between March to June is the best time to visit this Lake. Most of the people who came to visit this lake never fails to visit Nathu La pass. 

Nathu La Pass


                                            Nathu la pass connecting worlds two most populated country India and China. "Nathu" means "Listening ears" and "La" means "path". This pass is located at Eastern Sikkim were you can spent few minutes in China. In olden days China is also called as country of Silk. So this road connecting from China to India is also called as "Silk Road". The Silk road from china not only connecting India with a length of 6500 Km's it connects Europe as well as some regions in Africa. This route or road purposely made only for transporting Chinese Silk to other countries. If you are travelling to Sikkim don't forget to visit this historical as well as important place. The pass is opened only for five days in a week from Wednesday to Sunday. Also only for Indian Nationals, no foreigners were allowed in that pass. To visit this pass we should get permission from Tourism and civil aviation department of India.


Kanchenjunga National Park

                                            Kanchenjunga aka Khangchendzonga National Park is the biggest National park in Sikkim. It was started in 1977, covering a vast area of 850 Sq.Km. World's second highest peak "Mt.K2" Kanchenjunga is located at the west side of this national park. There is no surprise now why this national park named after K2. Rare animal species like Snow Leopard, Asiatic Black Bear, Himalayan kasthuri deer, Red Panda were found in this park. Lot of unrecognized plants and herbs are also there. Because of less human footprints this park still preserve the dignity and pride of nature. The park is located approximately 46 kms from Gangtok city will take 4 hours to reach.

Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary


Pink Bloom

                                            If you are planning your trip in the month of April or May, this place is definitely for you people. A valley bloomed with flowers will mesmerize your mind. Rhododendron flower sanctuary will give you such kind of experience. It vasts around 33 Hectares starting from Tsomsoi to Lava basin. Nearly 50 varieties of Flowers are there in this park including flowers like Poppies, Saxifrax, Primulus, Acanites, Gentians and Potensillas. You can able to see rare animals like Tiger Civet inside this park. Most of the month in a year this park is covered with ice. So its better to visit in the season time April to June. Many people told this place giving the feel of experiencing Switzerland during Spring season.  Apart from this lot of Natural Hot Springs also there around this place. This place is a bit far from Gangtok city will take around 7 hours to reach located near the small town named "Lachung".

                                            If you are planning to visit Lachen, add this beautiful lake also in your bucket list. Because this place is very close to South China border just with in a gap of 5 kms. It is one of the highest water body in the world located at the elevation of 5210 m from the sea level. Since it is very close to China border you need to get permission to visit this lake. Bikers always prefer this lake because during winter the lake was completely frozen and during summer you can see the floor under water and the reflection of Himalayas in water. Such a peaceful place definitely make you feel relax and refresh. Local people claimed that this lake as holy place because of the rituals done by Sikh monk Guru Padmasambava.
